SCHOOLS MATTER. COMMUNITY MATTERS.
Let's Do This Together
Strong leadership begins with listening to the people you serve. On the Board, I’ll take the time to hear concerns, gather facts, and understand what’s working and what’s not. Our schools are stronger when decision-makers are in touch with the real experiences of parents, educators, and taxpayers. Listening is also a vital civic skill—one that helps students become informed and engaged citizens.
No one has all the answers—but the best leaders never stop learning. I’ll bring a disciplined, evidence-based approach to my role, staying informed on school policy, budget management, and community priorities. We should expect the same from our students: to ask questions, seek truth, and eventually take responsibility for their own growth. A strong education includes intellectual honesty and personal accountability.
Leadership means stepping up, making decisions, and following through. As a Board member, I’ll lead with clarity, integrity, and a commitment to fiscal responsibility and school safety. Our students also need opportunities to lead—in the classroom, in their communities, and in life. Teaching leadership means teaching responsibility, initiative, and the confidence to contribute.

ABOUT DAN FLACK
Bringing Experience and Commitment to Education
Dan Flack is a (new) parent, psychologist, and small business owner running for East Haddam’s Board of Education. He lives in town with his wife and young son and is running to strengthen the schools his family will soon rely on. Dan’s background is in helping people move past life-changing challenges, navigate conflict, and stay connected to what matters—skills he believes are just as important in schools and communities as they are in talk therapy. He wants to bring that same focus on safety, well-being, and growth to our kids and schools through clear communication, practical leadership, and responsible budgeting.
Dan is stepping up because he believes our schools work best when families, schools, and community members all have a voice. He has no plans to become a career politican or pursue offices with 'bigger names'—his commitment is local, personal, and focused on the future of East Haddam’s kids. This isn’t a stepping stone. It’s a responsibility. His campaign is built on three straightforward principles: Listen. Learn. Lead. He’s committed to helping every student find the tools they need to succeed—not just in the classroom, but in life.
